Rediscovering Religion

I think, it will dawn on humanity some day that of all the systems created by man, Religion has been the most devastating of all. Be it politics, wealth or society - Religion has usually landed us into big trouble. So the need of the day is to have values - general and universal - regardless of the race, country or religion one belongs to. I just hope that the world outgrows the need for religion if it has to survive.

All religions, when they were started, were for the welfare of the human race, or at least of that group of people where it began. Later, the well meaning, logical, relevant, teachings of the wise men/ women were made into inflexible, rigid, “dogmas”, "paramparas" or "shariyat". This is the beginning of the devastation of society through religion. The Prophet – The Messiah – The Avatar, departs, leaving behind false inheritors who take his name to grab power over their fellowmen and to make others serve them. This is the sad end of all good causes.
Hence, the need of the hour is for all to rise against these self appointed Religious leaders and create a border less meeting of minds where one may differ with another on issues, but respects everyone as fellow human beings and all agree to disagree. We don't declare a crusade or a jehad the moment there is a voice of dissent. Lives are not extinguished just because some book, cartoon or film is not liked by a section of humanity. Nations or buildings are not turned into smoldering ashes and ruins by militants or military powers.

That would be the day when false religion will depart from the world and GOD will arrive.
